User name: sunscreenaddict (my people are of Scottish origin and we don't tan...we just alternate between white and shades of pink or red) In 7 day in PDC I used a whole bottle of SPF 30 sunblock...AND...wore a hat...and stayed parked under a palapa as much as possible.
Real Name: Aaron
# of trips to RM: 1
Favorite place in RM: I didn't find any place I didn't like
Favorite activities: Being a 100% beach bum. Partaking of adult beverages. Since it was my first trip I didn't do a whole lot...just kind of got a feel for the place and relaxed. I did make it to the ruins in Tulum. I was awe struck
AI, Hotel, Cabanas or other: Stayed in a small hotel but the cabana thing really interests me. I would consider myself a 'traveler' as opposed to a 'tourist'. The AI thing doesn't really interest me at all.
Favorite Place to Stay: Stayed in PDC at La Tortuga. FANTASTIC!
Pros: The laid back atmosphere, the natural beauty, the mexican people.
Cons: To be honest...the loud Americans at Xel Ha. It pains me to admit it as I am an American and proud to be so, but I, unfortunately, got a real look at why we Americans have the rep we have when traveling abroad. (To be fair, there were some fairly loud and rude Germans in our hotel...maybe it's not so much nationality after all)
Most Memorable Moment: When I walked to the edge of the cliffs at Tulum. Even the pictures take my breath away. I can't believe I was even there.
Favorite Food in RM:Tacos al pastor
Favorite Drink in RM: Cazadores tequila and Sol seemed to end up in my hand most often.

How many times have you been to the RM: 2
What is your favorite place on the RM: I have enjoyed Tulum, Playa del Carmen and Isla de Mujeres - if pushed for a favorite, I would decline to name one
Favorite Activities: Hanging out on the beach - love La Pirata in PDC
AI, Hotel, Cabanas or other: Hotel, condo in North Playa
Favorite Place to Stay: Anywhere that stays dry in the rain, is clean and has AC in the heat.
Pros: The Caribbean, the Caribbean and the Caribbean. Also, tacos al pastor and seafood
Cons: Going back home
Most Memorable Moment: Gosh, there are so many. Walking 3 kilometers on the beach south from Los Lirios and only seeing about 20 people in an early May
Favorite Food in RM: Hard to say. but shrimp tacos at La Floresta on Hwy 307 in PDC are up there - the food at Yaxche in PDC - and many more.
Favorite Drink in RM: Dos Equis Ambar, Leon Negra
We enjoy the Caribbean coast a lot a lot, but also plan to look at the gulf coast of the Yucatan, as property is much less expensive - and is a lot closer to the Caribbean coast than Portland, OR, USA.
