Read on another board that there is being buit a huge resort right on the corner of Coba Rd and the Hotel Rd (Boca Paila Rd.) I didn't see anything when I was there in Jan, but, it is said to be coming right along.
Come to think of it, I did see some guys clearing an area, on the north side of the road, but, didn't see any building going on. Anyone got any ideas of what resort this is gonna be, how big, and when it will open?
I am kinda suprized that this is happening..I thought the conservancy laws in that area prohibited this kind of developement near the beach..this does not bode well for the sea turtles who nest on the beach.
And it sure won't do much for those small cabanas that are close to it, those like Tribal Village, Papaya Playa and Copal with no electric will now have to deal with the loud music and bright lights..not to mention the hoards of people on the beach.
