My wife and I will be staying at the Blue Sky Hotel Oct. 22-27. We have been to PDC & Cozumel numerous times. We are looking forward to a little slower pace this time around. I have heard good things about the Abyss dive shop and will probably book my dives with them but any suggestions on other operators in the Tulum area would be appreciated. We are also planning on renting a jeep in Cancun and making the drive to the Blue Sky. I know to stop at Chadruai to stock up on beer but any other suggestions for the drive down? I've never driven in Mexico and I'm a little nervous about that. I would also like to know if there are any can't miss restaurants in the Tulum area. Thanks.

Thanks.driving is easy, just take your time. you can skip Chedraui and buy everything you need at the Super San Francisco in Tulum. It's new and stocked, and that way you can avoid turning in and getting out of Playa.
no matter where you eat in Tulum, make sure you try the famous Tulum grilled chicken.... it's everywhere in town.
I'd vote Abyss, for sure. Dave is a pretty laid back guy.

Good grief! Here we go again. I replied to ILW's thread about Chili Verde, and this posted instead.
James, I think there is a bug here. This has happened twice to me, and once to Minnie that I have seen and who knows how many other times.
Could you check it out, please?
Thank you ~ T.

There is a new Chedraui in Puerto Adventuras. It is right on 307 - that way you can go right to Tankah and Blue Sky with your groceries.
