I really enjoyed Charlie's in Tulum..the Chicken Enchalada was great..and I would rate the Margarita's a 4 Star. My daughter in law and I both had dinner, huge portions..and drank into the evening, and the bill was only $24. They take Visa too, which is rare in the area...and good for us, since we got into Tulum at dinnertime and had not exchanged money yet.

The Soupa De Lima was very good at Copal's resturant. Warning though, their Margarita's are almost straight Tequila, the one's at the beach bar were much better for me..not nearly as strong. Being only a "vacation" drinker, it doesn't take much to put me under the table..lol!

Something that we got several different places and they were all delicious were fruit smoothies, different flavors but all very yummy!

And if you are craving American fast food, there is always the Subway at the Ruins.

You will be so thrilled. There are so many little, but great places to eat in tulum. It is so hard to keep track. Be warned though, it is not really that cheap...remember it is a tourist area and they know it...that being said both on the beach and in pueblo there are alot of great places to go whether just for a cervasa and chips/salsa or a whole meal....

the absolute best dining experience in Tulum is Henchiso which is in Rancho San Eric(a private housing compound) immediately north of the entrance to the biosphere... it is a gourmet meal in a completely unexpected location.

in fact, i am heading there next tuesday with some of my kids and our "goal" for the trip is to hit every restaurant in pueblo and rate the chips/salsa/guac at each and then be able to post the info or results

we will let you know
