Hopefully this will give everyone a good idea of what they should be paying for cab fare.

What's the taxi fare along the beach road? For example, if I'm at posada Marguerite and want a taxi to the tiendas(stores) along the beach road ??

For example, if I'm at posada Marguerite and want a taxi to the tiendas(stores) along the beach road ??I'm guessing 20-40 pesos dependent of course on how far you are going. If a cab is on the way to another destination, going the same direction as you, can't imagine it's gonna cost you more than that. Do you know of any within walking distance? Ice was the heaviest item we would get at the tienda and always felt pretty good carried on my head.

Just a thought I had ~ it seems from everything I have read and experienced, if you "call" for a taxi from the beach to go to another destination it will cost you more than just catching a cab on the road. I was told in Sept that there are a lot more cabs now than there used to be and getting one is not a real problem anymore.

Another thought too ~ if you have some places you would like to visit and don't have a car and you bump into a cabbie that you really like, ask him for a price on how much to take you "around" for a day. I have found that sometimes this is almost as cheap as getting a car and you can enjoy and let someone else do the driving! I have also had cabbies give me their cell phone numbers to call them anytime I need them.
