Does anybody know about this condo development? Like; where it is, any progress made or stuff like that. We met one of the proprietors in Playa last year. He was giving us the Big Push. I think he expected us to write a check on the deck of a snorkel trip.

Based on the description it looks like part of the "new" Tulum. If you are on the Coba road going towards the beach you would see a main entrance on the right hand side of the road. I have not been able to talk my way in there yet. Dying to see in there! Interesting concept. I am not a nudist, but I like the idea of getting in the pool at my door and then swimming out to the main pool. Avoids the whole awkwardness of getting in and out and fleshy parts being seen. Can I come in and check it out when you get yours?

I met Mak Nuk on the plane, and I do not know what they are up to these days. Mac Nuk is mayan for naked man.
I do not think it is on the road to the beach, that is Aldea entrance. I think it is south by La Veleta? I could be wrong, and would like to be corrected.
I am not in the market for a condo like this, but I am interested in hearing an update too!

You are right it sounds like it is more south, but bordering Aldea.

Here's a note from a person who purchased one:The new road TO the beach is an extension of Av. Kukulcan which is on the far south side of the town. This road goes by the southern fences of the project "Aleda Zama" At this time it is not completed, a bridge over the swamp will, when finished put you on the beach next to the Sian Ka'an within less than 2 kms.

He's talking about the proximity of the resort to the beach and Sian Ka'an.

Kukulkan does not go to the beach road, though it was intended to. the owners on the last bit of road do not want to allow access. this is the current state, but speculators of the Kukulkan lots sure hope that changes.

Thank you! Has construction started on these condos. Or maybe they cut down the weeds or bulldozed an entryway? Any physical construction at all?

please do report, I am interested in knowing the status of these condos.
I think "clothing optional" is a real match with Tulum and the vibe that one feels while in this natural beauty. I met one of the directors, and later the municipal directors were telling me all about where this condo regime was at in its permit process. that was some time ago.

I'm the person with the codo at Mak Nuk.. An update on the project..

Last week Av. Kukulcan was paved from 307 toward the beach, how far I do not know, but past the Mak Nuk property.

The 2nd floor of the first building group is being blocked up now, First floor is walled in. I am thinking the hotel should be open late fall, they say summer but who knows.....Anyother questions I will be glad to help..

Thanks for the report. I can't wait to see the progress. Where are they exactly?

Mak Nuk is off of Av. Kukulcan, on the south end of town. The road has been recently paved. Past the new clinic a couple of blocks take a right. If you see unfinished hotel/casino, you are on the right road. One block in on your left is the property.....

We have been there looking four times in the last 5 weeks. We didn't even find the right street. Besides we started to panic being that near the beach. We did see astrological street names and a one way dead end. The guy with the pet Coati was interesting too.

We were at the site about a month ago. The first condo building should be ready for the outside cement stucco about now. It would be best to call Mike @ 984-105-4313, cell or 984-109-5779 home to get directions if you can't find it on your own. He would be glad to show it to you personally because it is a construction site. www.maknuk.com (http://www.maknuk.com)

My name is Mike Hopson, my wife Chrissy and I are the owners and future managers of Mak Nuk Village! I have been following your postings here, but have not answered as I do not know if this forum has rules about self advertising?

In your 1st post you gave the link to our web site, which includes a "Contact Mak Nuk Village" page
http://www.maknuk.com/contact-mak-nuk.html

The page gives the following info, and also a info form you can fill out

We began site preparations last spring, but held off on starting construction until we had a clearer picture of how the finances were.

I am happy to announce we began full blast construction in the 1st of November, with completion late this year!

Since we are a construction site, we need to arrange a showing ahead of time, please contact me at the numbers above (or by email) and we would love to show you our project!!

Hi Perico....If you were interested call Mike at the above #'s He would be happy to show you. I know he has sent you several PM's with no reply from you.......This is not a site to advertise a project and therefore no photos are allowed. Next week they are starting to lay the marble floors in my unit, the custom made chechen hardwood kitchen cabinets are finished and ready to be installed. The third layer of interior plaster goes on this week. This model unit should be ready for viewing mid Nov. Do yourself a favor and check out what a HIGH end condo looks like.

Wait...chechen cabinets? As in from the chechen tree? The poisonous one? A lot of people are *extremely* allergic to that and even being near it can cause a reaction..

You are absolutely correct in reference to the raw tree, it is the resin that is the problem. Once the wood is kiln dried there is not any problem at all! Our partner http://www.leolibra.com have been making furniture from Chechen for over 10 years with the majority being exported to Europe.

Chechen is a beautiful hard wood with a hardness rating of 2,400 compared to 1,200 for oak!

All doors , windows, cabinets, closets, are made using caribbean hard woods by us! as is all the wood furniture! leolibra also made all the doors and windows for the Be Tulum hotel!

Wow, you have made serious progress! Mak Nuk is really taking shape! Congratulations Mike and Chrissy!
How is progress with your beach spot? With all the stuff going on that has to be so complicated. Hope to see you guys soon!

I have not been able to talk my way in there yet. Dying to see in there! Interesting concept. That's the beginnings of Aldea Zama, there is no reason to check in with anyone even though there is that office, or at least we haven't needed to. We just drive on through to check out Zama Village, the first condo's going up in there. Some of the streets are closed off with signs but just drive around, or bike, or walk & check it out. We went specifically on a Sunday to see the units when no one is working.
