If your airport is open then, more likely than not, there are a surplus of planes that the companies pulled before the blizzard came to the NE just waiting to book last minute. I found a round trip from Austin to Cancun for $170usd.
I have plenty of friends who decided that they deserve three days in Tulum and have the freedom to leave tomorrow, who are on a booking frenzy right now.

I'm not finding anything on American out of DFW - it's all around $500-700/person.

You are right! I had them on Continental leaving yesterday to arrive in Cancun by 9pm, but upon my search today they were all 500-700. mabye it was just a yesterday thing.
sorry if I got everyone excited. I do have two friends who left yesterday, and their tix were $170 + the $100 in travel tax on Continental.
