I just noticed its 10:30 pm in Tulum and 85 degrees. That's above average for evenings this time of year, isn't it? That's great though!
Does anyone know if you can rent a car directly from any of the beach hotels? 33 more days! Maybe I'll create that ticker this weekend.:sun:

Good news for us! I could really use some super hot sun right now. Would love it if it was in the 30's C or high 80's. F. No more boots, scarfs or down jackets, no more scraping windows, no more complaining about how cold it is, no more crazy Christmas shopping, busy malls....hmmm I could go on all night!

Good reason to plan a trip for next Xmas! We spent the holidays in Isla Mujeres one year. It was the best Christmas ever! Driving around in a golf cart full of beer on Christmas morning. Now that's the way to spend the holidays! We left a week before Christmas so we avoided the last minute rush. I think we'll do it again next year.

Ana y Joses used to rent cars. I don't know if they still do, but you could check them out.

Lazydog on final countdown!
Ildipoo, this is going to be very uncharacteristic of me, but why will you need a rental car at all? With four of you sharing costs, I'd think you can take taxis just about everywhere, including more distant places like Coba.
Take a look at Shebug's report, they had a great guy take them to Coba, she might have even posted his number.

I don't mind you asking a question! I was just curious....and besides how do you know if we're splitting everything 4 ways hee hee! I know that sometimes the taxis dont take 4 people so 2 cabs would be no fun. I just thought that if we wanted to rent a car for a day to see a bunch of places, it would be so convenient to get one at the beach. I imagine there is a car rental in downtown Tulum. Countdown is on!

Fair enough! :D
So now I'll ask my far more characteristic question: Why not consider just renting a car at the airport from the get-go and driving yourselves everywhere? :p

So excited! Off to do some last minute shopping and then the final packing starts, just started snowing here so it's a perfect time to get out of town.
Ildipoo I put my vote in for you having a car the whole time also! Love having a car, that way if the weather isn't perfect you can just take off and do something on the spur of the moment. Love the ticker!

Wish we were going now too. We had a little snow in Langley today. Have a wonderful trip!
No one wants the stress of driving from the airport all the way to Tulum. I don't think we'll need a car anyway. How much would a taxi cost to Coba? Just curious!

I don't think it would be stressful driving from the airport to Tulum. It may even be cheaper than arranging other transportation. Maybe not cheaper than the bus though.:) Then you also could stop at Walmart in Playa for some supplies.
22 days and counting. And we get to stay for 10 weeks! How do you do the ticker?
