and started thinking since we got such a great deal in PDC perhaps we'll stay overnight there so we can be on the beach and be up early for the Ruins...

not sure...

besides NV [thinking one of the first floor junior suites w/2 beds or Ola] and maybe Suenos is there another good 2 bed cabana beachfront and not too romantic.

Thanks!!:beerchug:

Two equal beds can be a challenge, as I've found, but, other than the ones you mentioned at Nueva Vida:

Marrakech at La Luna (equal-sized beds and plenty of space, but one's in front and one's in back)

One of the bungalows at Puerta del Cielo, also huge amount of space.

Amansala (formerly Casa de Miel), beautiful room (I stayed there a couple of years ago) and now that the beach is back...

Om--large rooms and great rates, and while the rooms themselves aren't exactly beachfront, a fun place with a lot of style.

You should check out the new Cabanas Tulum, I think there's a link in the thread about them. That could be a great choice, assuming they're sticking with the two-bed theme that CT always had before, and by the time you go, they'll probably be all finished.

Milamores has a number of rooms with two beds, as does La Via Laktea, though both are pretty far south.

Playa Mambo has two beds, but one's on the ground floor and one's in a loft (or in the Penthouse, one king size and two singles).

Hemingway. Most of their units have two beds and are pretty large.

And good old Tita Tulum, of course!

I stayed in one of the Double Doubles at Zulum last year with a girlfriend. While it wasn't exactly ocean front, you still had a great ocean view. I would recommend it.....they had the BEST Margaritas too!!!!:margarita:

wanted to keep price close to the NV mark $159 or less...suenos is $180...La Luna is too expensive. Hubby and I loved that unit though although it might be warm in that back bedroom.

:beerchug:

Going to check into those options...thanks.

I stayed in that back bedroom last April, and it was fine, plenty breezy. I think one night I was a little warm, but overall, no problems at all. But I know what you mean--if I'm with a friend, I'd want both beds to have the same view. So check out the other places (though budget-wise, La Via Laktea and Milamores are probably out, not sure about Amansala).

Only one of the bungalows at Puerta del Cielo has two beds, but if you can get it, it's probably pretty inexpensive (contact them via Heather at Extreme Control) and there's sooo much space, including a big roof deck. It's right next door to Playa Azul, if you want to party a bit.

Hamaca Loca's Tortuga unit is also very large and they can split the bed into two singles. The beds were pretty hard when I stayed there, but if you're only in for one night...

I've got great ideas. Thanks all. I'll check 'em out.

Margo.

I'm pretty excited. Although I was hoping to go in June for the whale sharks but she's back in school and only had a little window before classes started up....just gives me a reason to drag hubby back next year!

We have a 2 bedroom PENTHOUSE in PDC for $800 total...wanna come up and visit?? Plenty of room.

I can vouch for the beachfront rooms at Hemingway...two equal beds, right on the beach with hammocks and beach beds out front. Walking distance to just about anywhere and directly across the street from El Tabano; not sure about price. Sounds like a great trip, have fun! :)
