We typically spend at least a day on El Paraiso beach - and Nuddy Beach bar was roped off two of the last four times in 2008-2009 that we tried to hang there to enjoy their drinks and beach beds. I know there are other options but I really happen to like that stretch of sand along with the music and fun young atmosphere they tend to have going on...

So at last check, were they open? We are arriving this Friday...

Any other places that are young and hip in the daytime? Mezzanine and La Z seem to be more of a night thing (been to both as we have a house in the RM).

How about OM?

Nothing else is closed on the beach other than Ocho. During the day most places dont really have a party atmosphere exept on special days like sundays.
La Z does there salsa night starting in the evening
OM has a sea food BBQ at the beach during the day
Ocho used to have a dj and live music

We will start playing music during the day at the end of the beach for those who like that but for the most part its all about chilling out during the day.
Most places start doing there night partys during high season so there will be things to do at night. Have fun in Tulum!!!

As far as I know (but I could be wrong because I never got around to checking in November), El Paraiso is open again. Not Nuddy Beach Club, but as it used to be.

To add to Om's list, Playa Azul has a big Sunday beach party/bbq that ends at sunset, they have volleyball and kiteboarding lessons (I think; there's a school there, so I'd assume they show off a bit on Sundays) so maybe that's the kind of thing you're looking for?

I'm with Om, though, the Tulum beach is primarily about chilling out during the daytime and the parties, if any, kick in after dark.
