Of course I am second guessing myself now. We arrive late and I expect we will check in around 9:00 pm. Their restaurant closes at 9:30. It will be a long day so we may not want to go into town but we will be hungry! Are any restaurants on the beach open late?

What time is your flight arriving in CUN? And how are you getting yourselves down to Tulum? Perhaps you'll be getting in much sooner than you think.

But the folks at NV's restaurant are really nice, and if you write ahead and ask them, I'm sure they'll set some food aside for you, maybe stay open late enough for you, maybe even deliver it to your room.

:wave:Beachreader has a GREAT idea, get it delivered to your room....if not, stop somewhere fairly quick on your way from the airport, more likely to find the reception open than the restaurant if you get too hung up.

My experience is that either you get in way earlier than you think, or you will get there 2 hours later than you think....and statistics are definitly for the latter.....and that IS my professional opinion! ;):rolleyes:;)

Just curious, where are you staying for the rest of your trip?? I can't remember if you ever posted it??

I knew I would have to come clean sooner or later! The issue with this trip is that we are traveling with another couple who have never been and its only one week. We have never gone for just one week. It doesnt give you enough time and we are trying to show them everything because we dont know if they will be able to go back. It has taken us years to get them to come. I can't help but think that we should have stayed in Playa del Carmen the first night due to our late arrival so we could show them the town and then headed to Tulum for 3 days and then the last 3 days at the Grand Palladium which is where we are booked for the last 4 nights right now. We wanted them to experience the grand AI. We also want to take them to Akumal. Not sure how we're going to do all this. Hubby and I will go back for 2 weeks in June for my big 50!

I was probably thinking that I didn't want to spend too much time with transfers and check ins and outs too and wanted to get to the beach in Tulum as soon as possible.

:wave:Hey Ildipoo, there is no stores open that late on the beach, and you can't buy beer after 10. You can usually get the transfer drivers to stop, in fact they usually offer, so get him to stop in Playa maybe on your way through....I also think there will be water in your room when you arrive at NV.

And don't try to do too much, the point of coming to Mexico is to relax and enjoy the beautiful beach.....right? :p

Your flight arrives at 5:20 and you're taking a private transfer? You should be in Tulum by 8:00, no problem, unless something goes wrong with the transfer.

I can't believe you're packing so much in, and so little time in Tulum, after all this! You must really love these people to do so much for them. Next June you have to promise to just relax! :)
