Hola, amigos....

I've been a little out of touch lately...it's hard to stay active on the forum when you aren't sure if you will get a chance to make it back to Tulum or not...We have had a spate of family related travel in the present and near future...weddings and graduations, that have made it a challenge for seeing how to squeeze in a R&R vacation for the wife and I. It's all good, but it's not vacation!

In bemoaning that fact last night, the wife said, maybe we could go somewhere spring break...that's all I needed to start scouring the web. I was surprised to find a halfway decent airfare to Cancun for that time frame (only a few hundred more than domestic travel), and emailed for availability on a couple of options for lodging...put the numbers together (rental cars seem pretty reasonable, too!) and was coming up with a week in Mexico that was not much more than going someplace warm in the states. I put a hold on the airline tickets and now need to close the deal at home tonight.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can post a ticker tomorrow!

So did she say yes??? Boy I would NEVER turn down a trip to Tulum or MEXICO if the dh came up with the idea...and booked the entire trip.

Okay! Took a little longer than I almost could stand...let one airfare hold expire...got a better price with an overnight in the Windy city, but we were going to have to overnight somewhere with a late arrival in Cancun....and so...

We are coming down... but then keeping going....back for a week in Xcalak! So it won't be Tulum, but we'll stop by for a few pesos and a bite to eat on the way. We enjoyed our three days at Playasonrisa last summer so much that we decided to go for a week long "chill" in that laid back scene.

So...just a few more chores...reserve a rental car, send a deposit, program the "ticker", get on the TI calendar, etc. etc.....the skies outside today are cold and gray, but I have a big grin from ear to ear!

Keep that grin Maya! Glad it worked out. I do hope you will fill us in on Xcalak. It sounds like it is more like what Tulum used to be. Have a wonderful time.

You have to finish your trip report before you're allowed to have a new ticker, Miss Minnie! :D JK....I wish we could ALL have multiple tickers on our signatures!!!!!
