Can anyone give me a good recommendation for budget accomodations south of Tulum Hotel Zone down to Punta Allen? After you pass Tierras Del Sol, are there any other accomodations before Boca Paila? How about in Boca Paila?

Punta Allen? Casa Sirena?

Planning a trip very soon, maybe even spur of the moment..this time of year, is there any chance of just dropping in and finding a vacancy?

Gale I am trying to understand location, Do you mean after Copal ?There are alot of places along the Boca Paila road. I was just there last week, it seemed there were alot of openings, but the drawback for me was the price. They were all well over 100 a night, which is just to steep for me.

This trip, I am looking for something well to the south of Copal..closer to Boca Paila and/or Punta Allen, rustic is ok, sand floors don't bother me. Yes, $100 a night would really blow my budget, the least expensive is ok with me, as long as it is close to the beach for the breeze.

There is a place called XamanDos...My friend Dan owns the place and they cabanas there as well..If you stay more than one night it is like 50-60 usd...send me a Pm and I will send you his e-mail address...It is about half way to Punta Allen....http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v99/sunseekers/xamachnew.jpg

We have been staying for years at Cuzan...cozy cabanas on the beach, good sand floor restarunt with inexpensive lobster. And you can book eco and snorkel tours.....the cabanas are around $50 us although if you barter you can get them for around $40 http://www.flyfishmx.com/

Thanks BobbiJ, I saw a program on Cuzan and the Boca Paila Rd recently on one of the thousands of fishing shows my husband watches every weekend..lol..and it looked beautiful and very relaxing..

I especially loved the end of the show when they interviewed the owners of Cuzan, about the road conditions...they responded, "We keep it just rough enough to keep out the riff-raff!

Do you think I could possibly get a room this time of year if I just show up...was thinking of leaving on Thursday.

I have some other friends that are at Cuzan right now, they emailed me yesterday and are lovin it.Wireless. They had never been and went down because thier 2 condos in Akumal and the one they own in Playa were all booked, had always wanted to go down due to all my braggin about the place and figured the perfet time. Go ejoy and tell all hello from Bobbi in Washington, the one with the two boys who play with the cooks son Choo Choo. And do an eco/snorkel tour..request Manuel and his 15 year old son Maurico...awesome day trip!
