Has anyone stayed at Casa Quetzal in Vallalodid? We are going there before Tulum to got to Ek Balam and Chichen.

We did, several years ago. Wonderful location, across from beautiful
San Bernardino's monastery. We had a great evening at the church, they were recreating some of the Mayan history on the grounds .
Would I stay there again? No...several reasons
Pool, very nice, but not really a swimming pool, no lounges or any where to sit around the pool. No biggie, but it was as hot as hades and after trekking around Ek Balam and Valladolid, a nice refreshing pool pould have been nice.
The rooms were also great.Spotless, large, very comfortable
Breakfast was not included, another no biggie, we did eat there our first morning. But it was not served in a very appetizing manner.

I am not a very good cook, don't really like to cook, and we are very casual eaters, no fancy spreads etc (but I love dishes, serving pieces and pots and pans...go figure!!:p) But when the jam is brought to the table in the opened jar and there are bits of bread and butter etc all on the rim and in it, just sort of turned me off. Plus I ordered yogurt and it was served in the big 32 oz plastic container, with dried crusty yogurt and other stuff?? all dried along the container lip. Again, we are not foodies, (I am a drinkie though :beerchug:) but it turned me off big time. How long would it take to put a spoon of jam on a small plate, also a few oz of yogurt in a small bowl?

Wonderful location, great rooms, but if we stayed there again, I would not eat there and the pool is more of a decoration than a swimming pool.

We would probably stay on the square at Meson
