Anyone have a recommendation on where to stay in town instead of beach? Would like to be within walking distance of the main area of restaurants, shops, etc. A/C preferred!

Thanks,

I always think Lo Nuestro looks neat. Google it. There is a great place that had no name on the same side of the street that serves delicious empanadas and other things for CHEAP. It's a family and there is a TV set up out there and mexican soaps run while you dine. Dinner and soda for 2 is usually 6 bucks.

We found what looks to be a nice two bedroom condo with a pool right near downtown that we booked for next February. We have not been there before nor seen it, but have asked a certain someone from this board who lives nearby, to slide by and check it out for us!!!! Thought the price was reasonable, and we eat and shop in town mostly anyways, so we'll give it a try......

Posada Luna del Sur - wonderful little hotelito, immaculate, centrally located, A/C, small kitchen, but no burner, no pool, reasonably priced.
Don Diego de la Selva - outstanding place, pool, breakfast included, gorgeous garden, A/C
Residence Kohunlich - beautiful condos! pool, A/C, very reasonable, not within walking distance of pueblo. check this place out on locogringo.com

We've stayed at all 3 of these places. They come highly recommended!
Have a great trip!

We stayed at Posada Luna Del Sur in May and thought it was great. Cold A/C, nice big refrig that was ice cold (froze our water bottles) comfy bed and very clean. It is at the south end of town where there are no sidewalks on the main drag but not to bad of walking distance to anything in town though.

We had planned on staying there again when we head back in Sept, but we decided to try something different and are staying at Posada 06. Decent reviews on it also and good price - anyone else stayed here before?

I just found this place the other day and all the reviews on trip advisor are glowing. I have just reserved 10 nights for me and the family and the owner was very nice. He is giving us a great deal because we are staying a good amount of time and has given me lists of his favorite cenotes etc. We have kids travelling with and it sounds like a really homey place. It is a 10 min. walk from town and drive to the beach or taxi if you don't have a rental. Hope this helps, we are really excited to stay here.
