I would like to thank everybody on this board for all of the helpful info you give. I do not post very often, but I have been reading for some time now.

My wife and I leave on Friday for our first trip to the Tulum area. We have rented a car from a place that was recommended to us on this board. We are staying a Villa Dolce Vita on Soliman Bay. (Mya thanks again for the great pictures of the place)

We are taking the type of vacation we like to take. We have been going to St Martin for the past several years, and learned that it is fun to go somewhere and have no plans before we go. We like to explore new places and we seem to learn of great places by talking to people we meet along the way. Some days, sand gravity seems to take hold and we have a hard time leaving the beach. Other days we like to get in the car and see where we end up. We have found some of the greatest places to eat by just seeing a sign and by remembering seeing the name in the internet.

I know I do not leave until Friday, but I know that I can't write this on Thursday night because I will need to pack then. I learned a long time ago to pack twice the money and half the clothes when I travel, so it should not take too much time to pack.

It is easy to see that you all love the place of which you speak on this board. I am looking forward to the adventure that is about to take place in the place you all love.

Thanks again for all of the info. I will post a trip report when I get back. Do not expect a report like Mya's, but I will do my best.
