Yep...will be in Tulum tomorrow for a week. In my mind, we're gone already but my body still seems to be located in the frozen, puritanical Boston tundra. Ah well...Staying at Tierras del Sol and we're terrifically excited, don't quite know what to expect but it will be great, I"m sure and very nice to be next to the biosphere. It's been a l-o-n-g, difficult winter in many respects - so, as long as the airlines cooperate on the way out, we're off!!!! And if they all go bankrupt and cease flying over the week - leaving us stranded - so be it!

Have a wonderful time! Please let us know about Tierras Del Sol..I almost booked there, but, couldn't resist Copal, so I would love to know for my next visit to Tulum how you liked it!

Tierras Del Sol is fantastic, you will love it there. Unless you're looking for lots of action and amenities. It's pretty much just you and the sand and the ocean and the sky. Say hello to Carlos and Natalie and Carolina and Jose, they are the nicest people in the world, and if you give them notice in the morning they will cook a dinner for you that will make you cry with happiness. Such a beautiful place. If you're planning on bringing lots of stuff that needs to be plugged in, forget it; no outlets, and even the lights are only on for a while each day. Who needs 'em? You will need a car, though, as you are at the end of the line of resorts there, and the restaurants are pretty widely spaced. May not seem that big a deal but trust me, you will not want to eat "next door" at Dos Ceibas every single night.

It's not posh accomodation, it's just the loveliest place on earth.

You can read my trip report, much of which involves Tierras Del Sol, at the sister website playa.info, here: http://www.playa.info/playa-forum/showthread.php?t=12969

How far is it from the tee intersection of Coba/Boca Paila rd.? In miles,Please sometimes these Kilometers confuse me..lol! sounds wonderful though, that is exactly what I crave, a cabana, the sand, the sea..simplicity at it's best! I loved not having electricity when we were at Copal, candles made it just perfect.

Lemme see, it's at km 10, and the junction is km 4, that's 6 km, that's about 4 miles. It's a ways. When you get to Ana y Jose you've got at least another mile to go. If you see the gateway into Sian Ka'an, you've gone about 500 yards too far.

You will be forced to put up with a lot of THIS (see attachment, I can't paste in to posts here for some reason):

Did you notice I was sitting beside you on this trip? You should cause that report made me feel like I was there with ya...I will be for sure staying at Tierras Del Sol next trip. Now I gotta ask ya, with a place like Tulum, who wants Cancun? Or even Playa for that matter?
