Per AdGuy ~ here is a list of cenotes!!
The lion's share of the cenotes near Tulum (at least the ones north and west of town) are listed on the Riviera Maya map. In addition to their lack of knowledge of Tulum, Perry & Laura also are not serious divers so don't expect a wealth of info on snorkeling or scuba. James is much more knowledgeable than the McFarlins (or me for that matter) on the cenote offerings in the area. That said, here's my list (in no particular order) to help guide you in absence of a map...
Chac Mool
Location: 22 km south of PDC...it just about across from Puerto Aventuras.
Ponderosa (El Eden)
Location: 3 km south of Puerto Aventuras.
Dzitnup (Xkeken) & Samula Cenotes
Location: Between Chichen Itza and Valladolid but much closer to Valladolid then the Ik Kil cenote. Look for signs as you head west out of town for a turnoff to the south. If you've hit the prison you've gone too far. I'm gonna guess it's about a ten-minute drive from town.
Koopiox
Location: Continue on the dirt road past the Coba ruins for approximately 1 km and look for small sign. Great zip line.
Chikin Ha (Water From West) & Xtabay
Location: 5 km south of Puerto Aventuras just before Xpu-Ha/Across from Barcelo Maya Hotel/H11 on Riviera Maya map.
Cristalino
Location: Just past Kantun Chi/H11 on my Riviera Maya map...but it's a few years old.
Cenote Zaci
Location: Just east of the town of Valladolid. Park at the plaza/square in town and walk two blocks to the east (it's between 34th and 36th avenues) on the same road as the El Meson del Marques hotel/restaurant sits.
Ik Kil
Location: Between Chichen Itza and Valladolid near the Balankanche caves.
Azul
Location: Just past Cristalino Cenote/Close to highway/H11 on Riviera Maya Map.
Taj Mahal (Taxma Ha)
Location: 26 km south of Playa Del Carmen/5 km south of Puerto Aventuras/Just south of Xpu-Ha.
Temple of Doom (Calavera/Skull)
Location: 1.7 km from Tulum on road to Coba on right/Very rugged rocky unmarked jungle path approximately 50 yds from road.
Gran Cenote
Location: 3.7 km from Tulum on road to Coba on right
Car Wash (Aktun Ha/White Cave)
Location: 4.5 km from Tulum on road to Coba/approximately 1 km past Gran Cenote on left./V3 on Riviera Maya Map.
Cristal (Naharon)
Location: 4 km south of Tulum on right.
Escondido (Mayan Blue)
Location: 4 km south of Tulum on left/Across from Cristal Cenote/2 km walk in Jungle.
Arch Cenote
Location: On Beach road heading south into Sian Ka'an, head west into the jungle near the stop sign. You'll connect up with a path made of wooden slabs (you may have to wander a bit to find it) and head west till it ends at an old deck at the cenote. It's deep...it's cool...and it's free.
Obviously, these are just a sampling of the hundreds of cenotes in the area, but they'll give you a great start on your exploration! :)
