Hello,
I visited Tulum in April and have decided to have our wedding here. I have tons of questions about local music, traditional mayan ceremonies, which cenote to use for a photo shoot, whether it's possible to do a shoot at the ruins, etc. etc.
.....but
for now I'll just say hi.
I look forward to our next trip in February.

Congratulations, and welcome to the board!
Do you know which hotel you'll want to use for the wedding? February is closer than you think if you're going to rent a whole place!

Hi Beachreader,
Thanks for the welcome. I've booked Hamaca Loca for the one night of the wedding. They have a beautiful beach near the edge of Sian Kaan. 'm stll trying to figure out what to do about the reception. They don't have a kitchen, so we may choose a local restaurant. I've reached out to a few but haven't received much of a response.

Hamaca Loca is very cool, especially their Tortuga unit, which is amazing (I stayed in their Caracol unit and was jealous of Tortuga). Will they be "doing" the wedding as well?
Where else will you be staying, if only one night at HL?
Las Ranitas is a short walk up the beach, and they have a restaurant and a fair amount of space. Right next door to HL is Tierras del Sol, and they have a tiny restaurant, mostly just for breakfasts and limited lunches, but maybe it could be used by caterers?

I've e-maile Las Ranitas, but have not received an answer. Maybe I'll send the coordinator over there to discuss it. I had a short conversation with La Tierra and I seemed to understand that they only did breakfast. However, maybe I can negotiate for them to provide a dinner or something for us.
How is La Tierra del Sol? I don't remember seeing it, even though it looks like it is next door. I only remember the condos.
I'm not sure where else we are staying. I think we'll be staying at Nah Uxibal in Soliman Bay beforehand. His mother has medical conditions and I think she'll be more comfortable somewhere she can have air conditioning, plus the kids will enjoy being able to snorkel right outside the doorstep.
Any suggestions as to where to honeymoon? I liked the sexiness of the swingbed and tub on the patio but found it disconcerting that my next door neighbor could get their kicks out of me enjoying these features:)

Facing Hamaca Loca from the beach, Tierras del Sol is to your left. You know how narrow the HL property is, and the Tortuga unit is at the left/south border. TDS is the next property, so the other beachfront units you saw would be TDS.
I assume by "condos" you mean the property on the right/north? That's La Via Laktea, a really nice place, but not condos.
Why not just stay at Hamaca Loca? If Casa Magna were open, I'd suggest them, but I don't know their status.
I also think Cabanas La Luna would be a very romantic place (especially the Captain Dale house), but it's very expensive.
I assume by the "swing bed and tub on the patio" place you mean Azulik? Windy City and Mayaflya are big fans there, you might PM one of them and ask about the privacy.
