Hi folks! I've just joined the forums and am interested in any advice you may have. My husband and I spend some time at Suenos de Tulum before the land grab and fell in love with the area. While we loved Suenos, we would like to try someplace new this time around. We are looking for something small and quiet, beachfront with ceiling fans (we are traveling at the end of August), with decent chairs and umbreallas/palapas on the beach. While a restaurant is not so important with all the places to discover on the beach, a bar or availability of adult beverages would be a nice bonus. We're considering Tierras del Sol and Nueva Vida, mostly because we would like to be down the "quieter" end of the beach. Gale has been kind enough to respond on another board (thanks!!), but I was wondering if anyone else had some experience in either place, or could recommend something else down that way that might fit the bill.

Hello!

We stayed at La Luna which has 24 electricity with ceiling fans above the bed.
The breeze was more effective than the ceiling fans however so you may keep that in mind if there's some place that appeals to you that doesn't have ceiling fans, might not be as important as it seems.

Perhaps look for an option with screens all the way up the windows [La Luna only has screens on bottom half so we had to rely on opening our deck door at night, being 2nd floor, it was nice]. I would also opt for 2nd floor or something where you didn't have to shut curtains, doors, etc. for privacy so you could allow the breeze to flow.

I am going to say what I always say ~ if you use the search function there is a weatlth of info on the site!! I personally don't think there is a "perfect" place out there, ie: right price, right place, amenities I want, etc etc ~ but there are really no "bad" places either. Just research this forum and you will see pictures and discussions on a great number of the places down there!!

Thank you again! I'm concerned about the wind...I remember May at Suenos being extremely windy. Are we in for more of the same in August?

I don't know that you can really plan on the weather - at all!! We seem to be an extreme pattern all over the world and the only person who knows what it will be like is Mother Nature. :sun:
