Hi guys,

We were in Tulum early December last year and half way through the week the weather changed and it was super, crazy windy. A lot of the trip reports I've seen since then look like that wind stayed. We aren't going back to Tulum until January 2009 - is that traditionally a very windy time? I know historical data when it comes to weather is pretty meaningless these days but I'm just trying to get an idea of what it "should" be like.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! :)

Hmm. I've been in December, and I've been several times in March, and both seasons it was seriously windy. They tell me it's not like that all the damned time, but it has been the case for me over the past three years.

They say the winter is the windy time, but other people have had calm weather then too, so who knows?

It was windy in Jan when I was there in 2005. Not as windy as it was this year with Beachreader, but close. I was there 5 days, 3 of those you couldn't lie on the beach, unless you wanted to be sandblasted. The other two days were perfect, a good breeze but not a strong wind.
