I just read the 10 Day forecast for Tulum and threw up in my mouth a little bit.

We're going next week and it's supposed to rain every day. Please tell me this is a Colorado style afternoon rain shower that lasts for 30 minutes and not a tropical downpour that lasts for days.

I've never stayed at an AI in my life, but if it's going to be that bad I'd rather lay waste to buffets and put the all you can drink Don Julio policy to the test.

Never read the weather reports! Well, I always do, but they don't mean anything.

Seriously, I've had them say rain all week and I never saw a drop. I've also had them be "accurate", but only for an hour a day. I've also had the opposite, but rarely.

You'll have a great time regardless, but do bring a deck of cards or something just in case. ;)

We had a little shower on Friday three weeks ago, and I am happy to report there was no rain in Ocho's restaurant...well, there was a little bit before they shut the doors..heehee.

I always say I would like to be a weather forecaster in Cancun..Partly cloudy; showers, partly sunny, showers..lol. I could vacation for 6 months and nobody would know the difference. LOL.

The Yucatan is a sub tropical enviornment, rain forest type weather prevails. Showers come and go quickly and the sun shines again.

Never fails to make me laugh when I see people in the water, a shower comes and they all beat feet as fast as they can to get to shelter quick enough..duh..you are already wet!

Yeah, except they might be people who believe lightning follows rain, and being in the water then isn't much comfort! :p

Hey! Like others have said it probably won't rain much....we've seen the same thing on most of our trips (all over the Carribean) and got very little rain...but be prepared for a couple showers:crossfingers:! I would rather be down there in a few showers than here right now. It has been cold (at freezing in the night) and rain and snow showers during the day for the better part of 2 weeks now!:(
Needless to say we are on here a lot and dreamin' about our next trip to Tulum!:D

Whoever writes those weather forecast/reports should be fired!

They ALWAYS say rain - even though it rains for 30 min/day.

So let's say...if it rained all day and the sun shined for 30 minutes, would they have a sunny weather forecast??? It's a bunch of BS.

We just got back last week, and they predicted rain every day. It rained twice for 30 seconds in 8 days, so there ya go!

Ok, they said "rain" everyday when I was down there in Oct of last year and I got rain everyday!! LOL - Just wanted to post the "other" side of the story. I also want to state that it did not affect our vacation and our enjoyment of it one bit. The rain just "arranged" our schedule somewhat, sometimes.

Oh, and this was not the "norm" at all...... Just my weather luck holding out lately!!

At least is wasn't Wilma!!

my wife and i are headed down next week (end of next week, actually) from austin as well - and i just checked the forecast and was disappointed - i hope the experts on this board are right - a 30-60 minute shower here and there is no big deal, but i would hate to stuck inside the entire 5 day trip!

June is the rainy season, it is when farmers plant their crops.
It rains alot and is buggy, that is why it is the least expensive month to be there.
We do need the rain down there...
