ATM at Cancun airport?

We're leaving in two days (YIPPEE) and I just thought of something (I don't see this answer in the FAQ forum so sorry if it has been asked and answered): are there ATMs at Cancun airport? I'm worried about it being Saturday night when we get in and having NO pesos for Sunday (we're good for the drive down to Tulum as I understand our ride takes dollars)...

Oh yeah, one more thing: how late is San Francisco open on Saturday night? Must have mis cervezas for Sunday... ;)

If I love Tulum half as much as I love reading this board, I'm in for a spectacular week!:)

Yep, there is. I'm not sure exactly where -- I've never used them. But I'll warn you, someone who used an airport ATM recently almost had their card eaten by the machine! They did eventually get it out. But bring an extra one if you have one just in case!

Also, if there is an American Express office anywhere near you in the states, you can sometimes buy foreign currency there. That's what I did for our last trip, since I walk by one every day. Not a great exchange rate, but I didn't much care -- just got some "starter pesos."

There is also an ATM next to the San Francisco. It is open pretty late -- at least 9pm, and possibly later. What time will you be getting in?

Thanks, Phyllis! Our flight is scheduled in at 5 pm so we should be in Tulum no later than 8 at the very latest...I hope! :)

Yes, there is an ATM just around the left corner of the bank as you walk out of customs. I have yet to see it working, but maybe the bank will be open and you can exchange for pesos there.

Hey! Also there was a money exchange in Terminal 3 where we got some starter pesos.....exchange not real great, but big deal! :dollarsign: Don't know their hours of operation??

Yes, it is right next to (just around the corner) from the AmEx money exchange. It worked fine for me a couple of weeks ago. I've always used the ATM at the Airport and never had a problem.
