Thanks to all for the great information on this forum...it helped make our trip memorable and a success.....some of the best vacation days I have ever had.
Hope to get to a TR within the next few weeks (swamped at work from being gone for 2 weeks....you know, that old chestnut).
Thanks again,

Geez...always hard hearing how everyone is down there, or just returning..when we don't go until the end of Oct..look forward to your report...i would be curious as to your op on la conchita......and which cabana you stayed in...never been dissapointed with the staff and breakfasts etc there...just didnt' like sharing that small beach with 2 other properties, and when we go, it's low season, and there were many people...
can't imagine high season...

Cabanas La Conchita was great.
Staff was very helpful, but not intrusive
Breakfast was wonderful (best french toast I ever had!)
Views were terrific
We stayed in Cabana #2, the only one with 2 rooms (1 queen on top and 1 king on the bottom).
I know what you mean about the beach size....fortunately the most people we saw at any one time (during our 5 day stay) was about 15.....plus one obnoxious and obviously falsely proud naked guy that insisted on prancing not only around his cabana @ Azulik but also all over the beach and up to the bar at Maya Lu''um. I'm all for free expression...but this was the ONLY naked guy around and he seemed to be trying to make a point...or something. OH well, gives us more stories.
I do have to say that as much as we loved CLC, we were ready for a change after 5 days and NV provided just the change we needed.

Well nudity does not bother me, but just one guy prancing around, kind of strange. What i found strange one year was the 2 guys that came from Azulik and were playing some sand game nude, and then a woman came out nude and they were running around and then this other girl comes out in her bikini, MUCH thinner, (much) than the others and hangs with them, and runs into the ocean with the really white, who later turned very pink, then red chubby naked guy .. who we didnt' see the rest of our stay..I am sure he was in PAIN..but I remember Dave saying: this isn't right: the girl in the bikini should be the one naked....not the others. :) But 3 naked people hanging out, and only one in a suit... strange, perhaps to me, but they were having a lot of fun, which is what is all about.

LOL! Love your writing style........I knowgave my 13 yr old daughter quite a fright to see stark white (and well over ideal BMI) buns ambling up to the beach bar!

Oh my..these people were much more viewable to the NAKED eye then the guy in akumal who was wearing a very bright orange suit, (FRONT) that ambled by..i kept thinking : wow that is quite the suit..and very: voluptuous in front..he was kind of pasty and probably 50ish, and chubbish .and the back, well, it was up there with some of those victoria secret thong panties... ewwww (at least on HIM) anyway, the woman with him was in baggy shorts and a safari hat...much to my surprise and horror, he bent down, buns my way, to pick up a shell, and i almost fell off my chair...minutes later a very cute girl walks by in her thong, and just does that: walks by..Hubby says: that's not right, SHE should have been the one checking out shells on the beach...i slugged him a good one and then started laughing....sometimes life isn't fair, depending on your mindsight...I love the beaches there, and i love the freedom people have, and being able to just be me/us/relax in a beautiful place.:)
