Si - welcome back to reality TX neighbor.

It's sort of like going to heaven, getting a good taste, and then getting re-incarnated back down to earth. Drag!

IMHO - you've got 4 weeks to get a trip report out. It takes a couple of weeks to readjust to civilization, and a couple of weeks to write, edit, and post. Be nice people.

But you can always offer teases before the full report.

Dan

PS - Speedo? That's a good one. Someone got their pictures crossed.

Thanks guys. I can give some initial thoughts. 8 days was perfect for me. I didn't enjoy my time in Isla Mujeres. It's an overcrowded, dirty, little place, complete with 4 or 5 story construction projects. In the daytime you are a sitting duck for hundreds of people hocking their wares. At nighttime it's marginally better. It's basically Cancun Jr.

Tulum is steadily growing. Even since September of '07 I see new places like Pez.

Margo and I had a great time at Mayan Grill and Hechizo. It was great to meet TnTWalter and Beachwolverine.

I can not speak higly enough about Suenos Tulum. I got the master suite for one night. Everything everyone said was true and then some. Leaving Jorge and Elizabeth was like leaving a dear family member. I can't wait to get back just to say hello to them again. Hi Giovanna.

Finally, Tulum is still #1 but Akumal is #1b. I had a blast there.

By the way...I found something I don't think anyone has ever mentioned...at kilometer 242 about half way between Akumal and Tulum there is a little market in a yellow building. You have to go there and get the homemade almond tequila served in expended (and hopefully sanitized) water bottle for $15. It's amazing!

Oh and don't be a cheapo. Buy the donkey out back a Coca Cola. He loves it.

Glad to have you back...can't wait to hear all about your trip!!! That's so sad to hear about Isla...it used to be paradise!! Isla is another victim of over development and advertisement.

I sort of want it to be a secret but since Jorge and Elizabeth are such sweet people I wish them nothing but full rooms forever.

This young lady, Giovanna, was really sweet. She can't be more than 20 years old, speaks 3 languages, is a beautiful young lady, a very nice host and has really taken to the family business. That is what I loved about Suenos Tulum. The owners are there and you are part of their scene. I love that Texas (ok ok Mexican) vibe. Everyone is my friend/family unless proven otherwise. Thanks G.
