Counting the hours till we leave on Wendesday.Have all your good ideas for resturants etc in Tulum but wondering any anyone could suggest a good place on the beach for lunch on the way down from Cancun or any other cool place we should stop. Should be on the road by 1130am from Cancun. Thanks!:sun:

If you really think you'll be on the road by 11:30, I wouldn't even stop. You'll be in Tulum by 1:00 or 1:30, and you'll be starving, but that's perfect for your first beachside lunch! I'd go straight to Mayan Grill/Nacho's, or maybe your hotel, depending on where you're staying.

La Floresta in Playa right on 307. I will be making my stop there on Friday as I drive down. You have to love Shrimp Tacos for this place.

La Floresta is ALWAYS our first stop for a quick bite to hold us until we reach Tulum. The shrimp tacos are fabulous...watch out for the green sauce!!!

They're right on 307? How do you get there? Sounds great!

I loved La Cueva de Pescador and Turtle Bay Cafe in Akumal. That's about 30 minutes before Tulum.

Stay in the local lanes when entering Playa, it's on the right hand side when going south. If I remember right it is just before (?) Juarez. Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong about that. It's a place with a plastic type roof (seen from the road) filled with plastic chairs and tables. Very un-assuming.

Gracias! I've seen that sign before, just never gave it a second thought, being on the highway and all. Doesn't seem like a very "seafoody" locale, but of course it's only a mile from the water, so that's sort of a dumb assumption. :o
