Hello, we're going back to Tulum!!

Hello all! So excited about this forum! DH and I are planning our return to Tulum :D We were in Tulum May '05. Since then, we've longed to return. It's finally going to happen! Tulum is one of our fave places in the world! We stayed at La Conchita and ate at Don Cafeto's, Posada Margherita, Pollos el Bravo (?), Il Basilico (best pizza, hope it's still there :)), snorkeled cenotes, ate too much sweet bread from the panaderia and just had a blast! Last time we were there for 5 days. This time we will be in Tulum for 8-9 days.

So, now we're going back and looking for hotel recommendations. We were thinking of Om Tulum Cabanas. Has anyone stayed here? We would like somewhere that is nice, secluded beach, clean, great breakfast, and priced between $100-130, cheaper is always great of course! We are thinking of splitting time between La Conchita and another hotel.

Also, car rental recommendations? Is easy way rental still a good option? We rented through them last time. Thanks in advance!

Hola Amo and welcome to the board!

We just got back last night, and we stayed at Hemingway for 8 nights and loved it. However, although we didn't stay at Om, we used the beach club there 4 days out of the 7 we were there and really loved the atmosphere of the place. We walked through the hotel area and were impressed by it.

Just a few suggestions - check out the FAQ section on the board - it has alot of information and web sites!! Then when you want really specific answers, post them under the General Info Forum. We love to answer questions, just not alot of people look in this forum!! It also explains how to use the search function which will net you alot of info on specific properties!!

Unfortunately, I have not stayed at Om, or been down there since it has opened, so cannot answer your question. I do know there has been alot of discussion on it though, which is where the search function works.
