Hi everyone! Lots of good info here. My boyfriend and I are going to tulum, staying at cabanas la conchita, first week in Septmeber. It was the only time we could both get away! Has anyone been during that time?? I am super nervous about hurricane season, and being a rainy time of year. can anyone tell me of there experience in Tulum in September. How was the weather???

Hey kikibrae! Was there last September 24-28. It's a very sleepy time for Tulum. As such, you and the bf will get plenty of romantic time together to explore and enjoy. For us it was extremely rainy. We got rain probably half the time we were there. The rain came in the morning, at night, evenings, you name it. But this was considered unusual. It usually hits and moves out. All of our pics are overcast.

As for as hurricanes? Well we went about a month after Dean went through and they were still putting the place back together. If you are worried, and I understand your worry...get the trip insurance. It will let you sleep at night.

That said, have a great time! Let us know how it goes for you.

Do not worry, I weathered Wilma, terrific hurricane!! Just adds to the experience!! but to be serious, you should have no worries - but I would invest in Trip Insurance just because of the time you are going!!

As far as it being the rainy season, the weather is doing it's own thing this year and it will do it's own thing in September. You will have a great time no matter rain or shine!!

i only got flight insurance, i got it directly from continental. it cost $150. you can cancel anytime for any reason, and get refunded. definetely worth it during hurricane season. I don't know how much insuring your whole trip costs???
