As you head south from Playa what would be the best diving that a newbie could schedule. Both Cenote and Reef.

Cenote diving is such a cool experience, it's hard to describe. It's a bit like a space walk on an alien planet in some ways and other ways it's as integral to the earth as anything you might ever experience.

If you've never seen a cenote before, I would recommend taking a bit of time first to just swim or snorkel in one (like maybe Cristalino) so you can get comfy and figure out a bit what they are. I think you'll enjoy the trip more.

A very cool dive just south of Tulum is Angelita. It's another cenote, but with a twist. It's like a dive into a foreign world... a Halloween island floating on a wispy cloud.

Thanks for the info any recommendation on which Dive Shop to use?

Abyss Dive Center just set up shop in Tulum. They've established themselves a very successful operation in Playa, and no doubt will continue this tradition in Tulum.

You'll find Aktun Dive Center across from the new San Francisco market. They are purely into cave and cavern diving.

James I want to get certified...Mainly for the cenotes...Im much more into those than the open ocean...dont get me wrong I enjoy that too but I have a passion for the cenotes...I feel I have snorkled enough of the cenotes in and around Playa and now I feel it is time to take it to the next level...

What steps would you take in this matter?
