Helloooooo!!!! We've been to ths site several times to check out the great advice, and it has been a fantastic tool for us to plan our next excursion. It will be our second time to Playa Del Carmen, but on this trip we will also get to stay in Tulum as well!! Three years ago, we spent only one day in Tulum and realized that it just wasn't enough! We will be staying at Tita (thanks to the rave reviews here!) however we hear that it's a bit of a hassle to get into town without a car, any good restaurants along this strip of beach? GOOD FOOD is a major part of why we come to Mexico, so any recommendations would be very much appreciated! Also any other Tita info. we should know? Thanks!!

How many nights will you be in Tulum? Tita is very centrally located, you can walk south to La Zebra, Om and Ocho, all with very good food but not cheap. Tita has their own little restaurant, of course.
Or you can walk out on the road and flag down a taxi heading back to town (this will save you the round-trip fee they sometimes charge if you call them for a pickup), you can hitchike (I and others with rental cars are often willing to pick up hitchikers on the beach road) or you can bum a ride with a friendly neighbor.
Do make the effort to get into the pueblo for at least one night, do have at least one meal at Zamas (they're famous and really, their food and margaritas are very good) on the beach road, and try to get to Mayan Grill (nee Nacho's) for lunch one day.
Have a great trip!

"GOOD FOOD is a major part of why we come to Mexico"......boy, did you find the right forum!!! We are such foodies, here. If you haven't checked out the restaurant sticky, it is a great place to start!!! Also, so many wonderful TRs with photos will have you drooling. Welcome and enjoy your time at Tita's....you might find that you're so relaxed, that you'll never go any farther than their beach restaurant. :)
