I was thinking, I want every night like my last night, so...it's your last night in Tulum. What do you do for food and entertainment? Also, those that have been to Isla Mujeres, same thing. What would you on your last night in IM?

I'd go out on the beach after 11pm and take in the stars for a little while.

Late dinner at Mayan Grill...great bottle of anejo tequilla or Mexican Cabernet Savignon on the beach...promise of when we'll return...stumble off to bed.

That is pretty much perfect. Mix in some Kimba stargazing and I guess I have something to work with in May..

That's what we did on Thursday...dinner by candlelight at Mayan Grill, back to Soliman Bay, lying on the beach under a full moon, finishing our bottle of tequila, and reflecting on twenty five years together. Life is so good.

Definitely on the beach..stargazing..with your favorite refreshment. I would start with dinner, Mayan Grill or other beachfront restaurant, then outside to enjoy the natural wonders. I think we are all pretty much like minded in this one..lol. Find a place with no lights visible from the beach, that is when you see the stars at their most numerous and brightest.

We have a last night on Isla routine, and it all revolves around the water.
About an hour (or two) before sunset, we have great margaritas and share an order of guac or sometimes the fabulous fish & chips at Ballyhoos.....it's ALWAYS our first stop when we arrive and we ALWAYS have to have a farewell drink.
Then we walk to Sergios on Playa Sol, grab an ice cold cerveza and watch another lousy sunset in paradise. We usually just chill during the afterglow and then head to Sunset Grill or Picus (both on the water) for our last fresh seafood meal.
If, we are still able to move, we walk down Hidalgo saying goodbye and head to Kool for delicious homemade ice cream. With our cones, we stroll along the walkway that fronts the fishing docks and head back to our hotel. It's a good thing we like to walk and burn off some of the calories. :D
We are usually already packed, so we then grab a chair and sit on the beach enjoying the brilliant stars, the sound of waves and rustling of the breeze in the palms. So ends another perfect day on Isla!!

I'm taking notes Lynnette. I have no working knowledge of Isla so I really appreciate those hints.

Isla has changed a lot since we first started going, but we still find it worth while to return for a few days before we head down to Tulum. May should be fairly quiet and enjoyable. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! :)

Thanks. I'll probably have more questions once I finish looking over my new Isla Can-Do map.

Beautiful photos, dionski!!! Usually we don't have much beer or tequila left, but, if there's a drop or more we leave it. Last May, the previous guests left us 1/2 bottle of Don Julio!!!! It was VERY much appreciated!!! :D

We stayed on IM for eight days in mid-May several years ago...absolutely dead once the daytrippers left. It was great!
