Was first in tulum about 17 years ago. Was no town, just a few youth hostels and i think one motel, el pariso??. Main place to stay and eat was Don Armando or something close to that. I think i was also there once after that about 12-15 years ago where we rented a car and drove down the peninsula. Very bad road and alot of fun. absolutely nobody there.
