I now this is a random posting, since most people go to Tulum to relax and not worry about their hair. But we are going to Tulum to get married in a couple of weeks and I dont have any hair-skills.

Can anyone recommend a hair salon/stylist down there? I just need someone to do an easy up-do (I guess thats what they call it). My sister-in-law used a woman named Estetica Nora for her wedding down there a couple of years ago, but does not have her info anymore.

Thanks!!

HI BOYNAMEDSUE, I don't have any names as I haven't yet been, but if you post this over on trip advisor, there is a person named"" HOLLY something " that apparently works in Tulum and knows quite a bit. I bet she could help you out..Good luck and have a great wedding in Tulum!

Now that is an interesting question! I have never given my hair a second thought down there, but I would if I were getting married for sure.

Hmm, La Luna has done a number of weddings, maybe Rene knows someone you can contact? Where are you getting married?

Or you could just cut your hair real short and do it up with gel...

Perhaps check with Maya Spa as they do "hair treatments" and may offer styling services, as well.

The hair salon in town is Nora Grey...

It's located in the second street on the left side after the monument round about!

Interesting, I wonder if it's the same Nora? I believe "Estetica" means Aesthetic, which I could see being used as a title of some sort. You know, like calling someone "Stylist" or something.

I think it would be difficult to hook up with someone like this before you go down, so I'd go on the first day in town and meet and greet, maybe get a test style done right away so you can see both how it looks and how it'll hold up under beachy conditions. Hope you've got some time in country before the actual wedding!

That's an excellent question...I always let my hair get wild & funky with the wind and humidity. Here are some links to a wedding planner & photographer in the area...perhaps they can recommend someone. Let us know what you find out!!!

Hey there, I was just flipping through the Tulum Travel Guide (Gale left it behind in the room and I shoved it in my bag and ended up carrying it home), and whattaya know, there's an ad in here for Nora Grey & Lili beauty salon!

They're on Centauro Sur 13 (I believe that's east of 307), and they give phone numbers as well. Nora: 044 (984) 876 9183, and Lili: 044 (984) 108 0896.

Hope that helps!

I ran across Mindy's blog post about Fashion Look Spa in pueblo. Does anyone have contact information from them? I already asked Mindy but she hasn't had a chance to reply yet.

Thanks!

I will be in at fashion Look today to get the info for you. I will send you the info when I have it. I have their business card but they only have a Tulum cell number and the owner does not speak English. I will get back to you later on today. I hope all is well.

I think it would be best to go to her in town because the water is much better. When we were at Copal in March I couldn't wash my hair because the water was so bad. We stayed 6 days and I could have used a salon with good water. I tried to wash my hair in the ocean, but that didn't work at all. When we go back I will go to the salon in town to get my hair washed.
