There have been people from LG ask why when they join our little board, they cannot post. Is there a reason? I've never had a problem...obviously.

I'm a relative newbie and I have no problems posting... obviously...
Maybe be user error?

I just posted a new thread and didn't have any problems.

Edit:
However, as I typed this I got

"The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." -))

I'm speaking of people who have signed on in the last day. I received the following email.

"I registered there, but everytime I try to send a post - it says my registration has not gone through. I can log in successfully, but can't do anything - suggestions?"

Does special permission have to be granted?

Perhaps James can chime in but being a relatively new member I believe that when I registered I received an email and had to follow the directions from there.

Did they verify email address after registration before they post?:trafficlight:

Email header:

"Action Required to Activate Membership for tulum.info forum"

It can be in their spam folder.

I had a problem when i signed up here. You have to look for an email confirmation and follow the directions - I think it's as simple as a click. You can't post until you confirm. But...my confirmation email went into my bulk (which I had dumped)...so tell them to check their bulk folder.

Let me check with this person.

This board sends out an an email to their registered email address and if they don't acknowledge it, they can sign on and send PM's but they cannot post. All they have to do is use a valid email address and acknowledge the email sent to them. But do look in your bulk mail, as it may not make it to your in box.

This person has not received the email. I suggested they check their junk email box if they use Outlook. They may have their spam filter set too high.

there are lots of email providers that send anything not specifically white-listed into the bulk box. This is a standard, default setting for this forum software.

I just added a modification that prints a message to non-confirmed members so that they can request the email be resent. Out-of-the box, vBulletin (this forum software) doesn't handle that very well, and if you don't pay attention and haven't joined a bunch of forums already, you could miss it and not know what to do.

We all know the Mexican mail system is extremelly slow...perhaps the Tulum email system suffers the same problem? http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_72.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxmk762YYUS)

I imagine we would have lots more email issues if the server was in Mexico, for sure.
