In a past week I've been trying to reserve a Full day canal tour with www.cesiak.org (http://www.tulum.info/redirector.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cesiak.org) for me and my wife. Emails, phone calls ...nothing works. :( They just never get back to you. Does anyone know how to get a hold of them? did anyone else had problem reserving as well? I tried just about everything. We are leaving on Saturday (March 8) morning. Thanks.

Depending on how flexible your plans are, you might just wait until you get down there and stop in at the office.
I had a very friendly chat with a woman at their office on 307. It's on the east side of the highway, just past the Pemex on that side.
I think they are VERY busy people. It's a small operation, and when we were there, they were having a wedding at CeSiak that was getting most of their attention at the time. They probably need to hire some more staff.

Thanks PhyllisB (http://www.tulum.info/redirector.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Ftulum.info%2Fmembe r.php%3Fu%3D1301) for the info.
I just called Nueva Vida and Ricardo said the same thing. They are extremely busy!
Since they offer the same tour for the same money, he said "Don't worry. We'll take care of it when you get here."
Looks like problem solved!
P.S. I think they need to change their auto responder

Here is the email of the girl, Maryln, who I made arrangements with last year. mruiz at cesiak dot org
She was really good about being quick with emails. It's worth a shot.

I had a hard time getting a hold of anyone there as well. I know one of the #s is a cell phone that seems to not get charged very often. They also hit me with a fee for using a credit card, which I wasn't aware of until after the fact. Emails usually take a day or so to get responded to as well. :)

Yep, they will charge YOU the 3% they will pay the credit card company. They explained the upcharge to us if we did not bring cash.

Just an FYI - all businesses, everywhere, pay a fee for taking your credit cards. The gas station, grocery store, hair & nail place - every single place that takes credit cards pays this fee for the "opportunity" to serve you better and take your credit card. This is a minor irritant with me, as where I work we pay fees in excess of 2% just to take a credit card on the total amount of the purchase. Lets just say you are a gas station - at $3.00 a gallon, Visa collects 6 cents for every gallon you pump. Now, just multiply that by what figure?? I think you get my drift -
My only point is they can't afford the fees and pass them on to the customer using their credit card. Most places down in Tulum that take credit cards will also hit you with the fee. I know Tita's does and another one I ran into when I was down there.

minniemex, you are totally right. I was more upset that they never said anything about the fee, they just charged me an extra $20 then sent me an e-mail confirmation which showed the credit card usage fee.
Swifty gas stations charge more per gallon when using a credit card. I don't mind paying the fees, just let me know about it before I buy something from you :)

You are right!! They should let you know up front that they have a fee to use the credit card..... That would have made me upset too!! I haven't heard of the gas stations charging more for credit cards, we just have some that offer a discount if you pay cash....
