Hello Yucatan lovers...:dolphin:

I'm returning to paradise after having been away from the Yucatan for 12 years. I'm sad to hear that so much of the "secret" that I came to know and love hanging out at Casa Cenote before there were ANY hotels on the Riveria has been sold out. But it seems like Tulum may have much of the magic left!

I'm staying at Hamaca Loca in March...

Question for you all: Any advise on securing things like dig camera and passports since there are no locks anywhere? I'm used to the days when we just gave our stuff to Gary at the Casa and picked it up when we left. Those days are gone I guess...What's your advise?

Thanks!

Jason

Most of us just leave that stuff in the room. So far we have not heard of anyone having any problems. I have left cameras sitting out, which was probably not a "smart" thing to do, but nothing has ever even been distrurbed. Our passports are put away and by that I mean left in the empty luggage. There has been some talk of some of the cabanas putting in safes, but I haven't heard of any that have done that.

I think the last place you want that stuff is in your car. That is the only place I have heard of theft of anything.

I am so envious you spent time in the area before it was "modernized".
