Hello all,
Thanks to TheWindyCity I found this board, what a great resource! My husband and I and our 2 daughters spent a month in the Riviera Maya this past Nov-Dec, and as soon as we returned I started planning my next trip in July! We only spent one little day in Tulum so this next trip will be 8 days at Azulik, just a girlfriend of mine and myself for a girls' trip for a good mix of adventure (diving, whale shark tour, kiteboarding, ruins) and of course R&R. Thanks everyone for all the helpful info...

Welcome!:eat-drink:

We're going in early May and my husband is excited to hopefully kiteboard [he loves to wakeboard]. I'm guessing it depends on how windy it is whether or not you can kiteboard on a particular day. Not many people mention it here so nice to find someone else interested. We can share our results.

Thanks! Yes, let's share notes - I'm pretty excited about trying kiteboarding so it'll be good to hear your husband's experience.

Hey TNTWalker, My Dh is into kiteboarding (has only done it on East Coast Outer Banks) and as anyone who is reading my constant ????? - fishing is his other passion; So, I am so happy to find that KB is in Tulum. Although (hehe) Beachreader constantly laughs at us for being "old folks" Guess what: we still play!
My ?? for you is where are you and you DH staying in Tulum. I've read all your own ?? on the subject and we share a lot of the same priorities; if you do not mind sharing.... a big GRACIAS from Gracie.

I'd love to share...

we picked Cabanas La Luna.

I was deciding between that and Nueva Vida Horizonte Perdido and Posada Lamar Zafiri. I think I would have been equally happy with all three...but I have not been there yet. They were also very close in price [within a few dollars] so really close. What the other two had that La Luna didn't and seems nice is they're up high [stilts]...what cabanas la luna had that others didn't and seem nice is 24 hour electricity and ceiling fans in the mosquito net above your bed.

I love trying new things and there are many cropping up. There were a couple others being built or just complete that I just couldn't get more information on....don diego and Puerito come to mind.

Best of luck to you.

Hey Trish, thanks for such a quick reply. I also have Luna and NVh on my lists; I dont believe I have heard of the 3rd. but will look. It is overwhelming isnt it?? Rene has been great with emails, as was NVH.(.others so so...)
I started out inquiring about a Xmas trip; however, the more we looked, the more we thought - lets go now! Fortunately we can do that. UNfortunaely, we dont know who has availability and who doesnt...and its not that easy finding out. Wish they had CENTRAL RESERVATIONS...haha.
Anyway, we want to go March or April, but March seems pretty full - hard to believe but I guess Tulum is definitely IN.
Anyway we are planning around Dan's availability , aka -Xamachdos - and it will be April. DH LOVES his flyfishing (and I like it, esp. the bonefishing)
So have emailed him and will fit in 3 days his place, 3 days Tulum and probably one night PDC just to see it. Or more...
one of us is retired and takes any/all the time....the other, well independent so I take the work on the road! (or beach, whatever!)
But I do appreciate your input, as I was second guessing my choices.
If I do get there before you, I will let you know asap!
As always, Gracias Gracie
