Christmas in Tulum

Hi all, I am a "newbie" --been reading the forum for just a week as we are hoping for a xmas getaway and I thought Tulum might be the place.
Have read many TA Cabana reviews and made a list to enquire about avail., etc. but was wondering if I have chosen correctly for Xmas. Reason being, a while back we chose a Pacific coast Mx town and was told to definitely not go during Xmas because it becomes "spring break on steriods"...this was daunting for us as I had spent so much time chosing accommodations.
SO -before I begin the search, could some of the experts please tell me about Tulum at Xmas - weather, crowds, beach conditons, surf, etc. Never been to Mexico, and Tulum seemed ideal and laid back for us..
Xmas is the only time we both have a week off, so that is our vacation time; tough luck that it's always high season!

Hi Grace, and welcome! Tulum will never be "spring break on steroids", but prices over Christmas and New Year's are the highest of the year, sometimes double the price the same rooms were just the week before. I've never traveled over Xmas for that very reason, I hate paying so much just for the time of year, but others do, so you might want to post your question on the "General" forum, more people will see it and answer. I'm not even sure why I came over here! :D

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it more confusing. This whole separating of forums is new for us, so I really think most people just stick with the "General" board, hence I suggested that for you. I think you'll get more replies that way, that's all. :)

Really is confusing with all our "new" categories, like beachreader said, we just got them and it is a tish confusing.

Tulum at Xmas will be busy, it will never be a "spring break on steroids" !!!
