Ola! I'm new to this site and I'm writing for advice from those of you who have stayed in Cabanas in Tulum. We are going for 3 weeks in January and I want to know if we just show up if there are usually available cabanas because it seems you can't pre-book cabanas and if you do there is a risk of it not being available when you get there. We're looking for bare bones and cheap just a bed and a mosquito net. Any recommendations or advice would be very appreciated! Thanks :D

I would suggest going to PLAYA.INFO and asking that question...you will get alot more response on this...this forum is new and is an extension of the other forum. you can also check out the webcam and see many pictures in the gallery....

here is a link Playa.Info (http://playa.info)

We took the bus from Playa, grabbed a cab (30 pesos) to the beach, strolled down untill we found a place we liked. We did find some spots undesirable and as well ones that were too much. It was a fun time. We had never been to tulum and were not sure what we were getting ourselves into. We ended up spending $20 a night. Electricity was turned off at 10: 30 or so. I am going to try to find the same spot this Jan.
