I just arrived back from my 7th trip to Tulum. This one was (wayyyyy too short) but one of the best experiences I've ever had. I have taken friends a couple of times and it was fun but my best times are when I go alone. You do whateverthehell you want to do all times and there are so many new friends and old friends to meet and see again. The trip from Dallas was so short not to mention cheap. I absolutely cannot wait to come in May from Austin at $170 .....
Anyways here's some great pics of different places I went....many more to come...

I stayed at Diamante K because I just love the place. The prices have skyrocketed since I last stayed there but that's to be expected I guess....

Wow. Ya know Karen, I thought I was the only person who enjoyed Tulum travel more alone than with friends. I've also always enjoyed doing whateverthehell I like. I meet more locals. I get more time just chillin' on the beach. My Spanish improves more. Great pictures. From across town in Fort Worth, glad you had a great trip neighbor.
PS. When is your trip in May scheduled? I'm rolling May 6-10 and I'm already excited.

I decided to check out some of my old haunts, and stopped by Papaya Playa. It was set up beautifully, but I was not happy with the cabana Sergio showed me. By the way Sergio is so cute and nice. ;) Here's some shots of Papaya Playa (very inexpensive and rustic, but cabanas are not so clean.... such as the mosquito netting was filthy and I did not want to touch it much less sleep under it.)

Anyway, back to Diamante K:
The restaurant is very good, I have never been unhappy with the food. Here are the steak tacos:

Party pictures will be coming soon!
Doug, I think when I come in May it will be around the 17th to the 27th. I may have to go sooner, though because I am having MAJOR withdrawals!!!

Cool. I haven't been to DiamanteK in six years. Great to see pics of the place I first stayed at. Great food as I remember too.

We went to Dia.K Friday night, the menu looked AWESOME, but the place was monopolized by one big (kinda loud) table so we moved on. I loved the interior of the restaurant.

Angelo makes jewelry and takes people out on the boat to snorkel, dive, and go to cenotes. He's the coolest person around, one of my best friends there, with a very good soul.

We went to a cenote north of the ruins off the beach and it was beautiful.

Angelo said he didn't know the name of the cenote. It was kind of hidden, no one around, no charge or anything.
The band Guadaloop, guitarist Gabriel........ I think I'm in love:p

Great pix!! Lots of fun!!
I think that cenote is the one just a short walk from Caleta Tankah to the south of where their restaurant was. I walked back there with my kids a few years ago (maybe 4) - it was not a swimmable cenote really...not that I could see.
