I came here to search for your trip report...much easier! :D
Azulik sounds fantastic...the only aspect that doesn't appeal to me is the clothing optional. Too bad they don't have a sister hotel that requires clothing. LOL. But your vacation sounds lovely [minus the shopping..I hate shopping.]

Actually, they do have a sister hotel that is textile, it is down the road a few doors, called Zahra. http://www.zahra.com.mx/

At Azulik, you can be clothed, and a lot of guests are. This isn't a nudist resort or anything like that. They just offer another aspect to your relaxation.

Thanks JoshyCharisse..totally relaxing vacation, very different than the all inclusives..never missed the AC. Can't wait to return.

Thanks Gabe...we really loved Tulum...looking forward to our return soon...and to see the changes to the Copal beach. They built a stone wall to help hurricane proof it, and added more palapas. Should be even better!

I originally had written out Azulik after my initial infatuation.. because I thought maybe it's over priced for what it is after I really thought about it and compared the amenities to other places.. (not a great swimming beach) but after seeing your trip report... Azulik is back in the running!!!
