WAHOO!!! we are here, after spending 2 nights at PDC (at Posada Freud). Great lil hotel which seemed a hell of a lot cheaper than the rest. Quite remarkable too (more to come on that later).
Missed the bus to tulum, so took the collectivo on calle 2 y avenida 20. Once we got into town, We decided to rent a scooter. Yes, a lil expenisve at 30dollars a day. But so worth it!! Weve been zooming up and down the hotel zone and driving to town for stops like this (internet). I do believe itīs better than a car, for a number of reasons (more on that when i get home)we stopped at HSBC bank, cashed some travelers checques, ate a kickin meal at Charlies, and picked up some beer, ice, and an ice chest. we were off...zooooom
We are staying at Nueva Vida de Ramiro, and it is gorgeous! The weather has been hot and humid, but no rain. The wind has been quite strong, but is a relief from the hot sun. Ate dinner last night at Zamas, which is some of the frshest fish my tummy has ever tasted (being from San Francisco, iīve had a lot of fish). Tried to have breakfast at Mezzanine, but they were CLOSED! i think just for the day...Instead went to Zahra and had huevos montuleņos, and picked up a bag of ice there as well.
I am meeting Minniemex at Tita Tulumīs in about an hour for a lil drink on.
I canīt believe how deserted this place is this time of year. itīs so nice, to not have people yapping on cell phones every which direction you turn.
SO EVERYONE.. what else MUST i do while iīm here...
We leave Saturday to drive to Izamal, then Valladolid, then Merida. We may come back to Tulum to finish off the rest of our trip. but so far, this is heaven on earth. bye for now. -andrea
