Azulik or Las Ranitas

We stayed at Las Ranitas a couple of years ago, and had a really good time. The beach out front was raked daily and we could walk for miles in either direction. This hotel is near the southernmost end of the hotel zone, a couple of miles down the dirt road, past Ana y Jose.

Now we're considering Azulik for something different, which I understand shares a beach with Cabanas Copal. From reading other posts I'm concerned that the beach here is either too small and/or not well taken caren of. Any comments or experiences to share?

When I was there 1 year ago, the beach was great. Non-crowded, and swept regularly. No problems here.
