Part 4 ~ the end of the story

The rest of our time was spent at the ABR. This is an all inclusive resort on AkumalBay. I have to say, I really enjoyed the visit overall. With two grandkids, son, daughter in law and ourselves, this worked the best for meals, naps, etc – However, I did miss the dining out at all the different restaurants -

The view whilst eating at the ABR was gorgeous –

The sand and water were beautiful –

We also had a fascination with a gecko outside our room, he came out at night to “sun” himself on the light fixture. He was an albino and really looked strange!!

What I have said from the beginning, this is a trip that we spent a lot of time with family. One of my most memorable moments was when the Princess saw a man who looked like Santa Claus. We explained that he was probably on vacation, as everyone needed one, and had picked Mexico because it was a lot warmer than the North Pole. We said we had to respect his privacy as this was his special time. She watched that man like a hawk, if he was anywhere near us it was more than she could handle. Well………. My husband was up at the buffet and saw this man right next to him and he told him about our granddaughter believing he was Santa and he said he gets that all the time. He then asked where we were sitting, asked her name and he came over and said hello to her. He had a little chat with her, called her by name and she was just beside herself. I doubt she will ever forget it!! Here are the pictures –

I will end with a few more pictures of our GK’s – like I said, I took a lot of pictures of them –

It's been said before, it'll be said again - what CUTIES! I love that Santa story, that's the best. Just wait til she's 17 and you can remind her of it and she'll be soooooo embarassed. teeheehee. :) What a great guy for doing that, too!

Awww so lovely. Your grandkids are adorable. Makes me think how nice it must be to be a grandmother - which is scary as I don't even have kids of my own yet!

And that Santa story is great - reminds me of a very similar thing that happened to me when I was a similar age and we met a man walking his dog in the woods. He must've already figured out how much he seemed like Santa and leant down and said to me 'do you know who I am?' then explained how he was on holiday. I was so excited!

Great report Minnie,

And great story. I too love the Santa angle. Maybe I'll get lucky and get to meet Santa on vacation myself someday!

Love the pix,

Dan
